A tightly contained thriller set almost entirely aboard an offshore rig, Salt & Static needed an edit that could sustain dread across a single, unbroken night. Sound design and picture were cut in tandem from week one, using overlapping dialogue and delayed cuts to keep the audience one step behind the protagonist. The final cut trims the theatrical release by six minutes for pacing, tightening the second act considerably.

Built the tension around silence rather than score — cutting picture to the absence of sound in several key sequences, then letting music enter only in the final eight minutes.
